Director of The Fifth Element has a new movie & it looks STUNNING
Hey sci-fi nerds, are you ready for a space epic that doesn't have "Star" in it? Luc Besson, French director of Leon the Professional, Lucy, and one of our favorite films, The Fifth Element, has a new movie coming out next year, entitled Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. Starring Dane DeHann (Chronicle, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, upcoming Gore Verbinski mind-fuck The Cure For Wellness), Cara Delevingne (the hula-dancing Enchantress in Suicide Squad) and Clive Owen (Sin City, Inside Man, the criminally underrated Children of Men), the film looks like what the Wachowskis promised to do (and failed miserably) with Jupiter Ascending. But it's the director of The Fifth Element doing another space film, this HAS to be good.
"Under directive from their Commander (Clive Owen), Valerian (DeHaan) and Laureline (Delevingne) embark on a mission to the breathtaking intergalactic city of Alpha, an ever-expanding metropolis comprised of thousands of different species from all four corners of the universe. Alpha’s seventeen million inhabitants have converged over time – uniting their talents, technology and resources for the betterment of all. Unfortunately, not everyone on Alpha shares in these same objectives; in fact, unseen forces are at work, placing our race in great danger."
