Silicon Valley Season 4 Teaser: AHHHHH!!!!
Is there a better time of year than when HBO's heavy-hitters come back? Over the last 3 years, we've been lucky enough to have Game of Thrones, Silicon Valley, Veep and Last Week Tonight all play back-to-back on Sundays from mid-April through mid-June. Unfortunately, Game of Thrones has been pushed back due to a later filming schedule, but 3 out of 4 ain't bad. Especially when it's the brilliantly hilarious comedy about a group of tech nerds who do their best to completely fuck up anything good that happens to them.
After spending the last five years of my life working for companies based out of Northern California, "Silicon Valley" hits so close to home (well, maybe not all the handjob equations, though I'd be lying if I said it NEVER came up). Each character is intriguing in their own right:
Richard (Thomas Middleditch) as a "genius" bundle of nerves
Erlich's (TJ Miller) "if Trump were a stoner" bravado
Jared (Zach Woods) as a timid lady killer
The "Odd Couple if it were full of expletives" relationship between Dinesh (Kumail Nanjiani) and Gilfoyle (Martin Starr).
Mike Judge (creator of Beavis & Butthead, King of the Hill, Office Space, Idiocracy) uses his former experience in the tech industry to craft a show that is deliciously funny to anyone within tech or a start-up, but is still very much enjoyable to outsiders.
Season 4 of Silicon Valley premieres April 23.
